Advanced Lead Engineer - Systems Engineering

Role Summary:
The System Performance Engineer will architect new locomotive designs that provide competitive differentiation and will ensure compliance to customer requirements through the creation and utilization of predictive tools and methodologies. Specific expertise will be sought in the area of system application modeling and optimization.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Serve as a recognized leader in the creation of locomotive system designs
- Anticipate, develop, and apply technologies to current and future locomotive products to promote competitive differentiation
- Predict behavior of locomotive systems through the creation and utilization of predictive models to optimize the overall architecture and anticipate system interactions
- Provide systems engineering leadership to teams working assigned projects
- Collaborate closely with product management and customer facing service teams for requirements gathering
- Translate customer needs through clear articulation of requirements and decomposition of these requirements for subsystem design execution
- Remain current in advanced technologies for new product introduction, performance improvement, cost reduction, and problem resolution
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers
- Leverage expertise to resolve problems uncovered during the manufacturing process and those found in the field
- Formulate recommendations after thorough evaluation of data and the completion of formal trade studies
- Protect the intellectual property rights of the company
- Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements
- Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Effectively communicate technical aspects of system activities vertically and horizontally in the organization
- Promote simplification and implement initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of the organization to customer / business needs
- Ensure positive actions are taken to encourage personal growth, technical development, and improved interpersonal skills
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Engineering position
Desired Characteristics:
- Demonstrated skills in modelling systems and solving problems with Matlab and Excel
- Working knowledge of the railroad industry and operations
- Familiarity with locomotive traction/propulsion systems, engine fuel efficiency and emissions
- Desire to learn and employ new tools and methods
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Fast-Works mentality

- Ability to formulate strategies with senior management and demonstrated experience in
implementing these strategies

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
