Role Summary:
Develop and apply the power electronics and magnetic components of electric drive systems to provide the core traction and auxiliary functions for locomotives and off-highway mining trucks. Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Define the application requirements, architecture, specification and/or design, and validation of power electronics and magnetic components and systems.
+ Create circuit topology, hardware design specifications, validation procedures, and execute testing for inverters, rectifiers, transformers, contactors, relays and filters.
+ Develop ownership for a broad range of components IGBT?s, GTO?s, rectifiers, SCR?s, capacitors, inductors, resistors, heat-sinks, transformers, and busbars.
+ Execute New Component Introduction to qualify components for functional, manufacturability, environmental, and reliability requirements.
+ Support the integration of components with controllers and into locomotive and off-highway mining truck systems.
+ Support the investigation, root-cause identification, and resolution of electric drives reliability issues.
+ Support the evaluation and conceptualization of new electric drives control technology and applications.
+ Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
+ Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
+ Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
+ Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
+ Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
+ Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
+ Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics or Related Discipline
+ At least 5 additional years of experience in an Engineering position
Desired Characteristics:
+ Experience with the design of high or medium power power-electronics and/or magnetic components and EMI Mitigation strategies
+ Experience simulating component designs
+ Experience qualifying components
+ Ability and willingness to work "hands-on" in test labs and on locomotives or off-highway trucks with high HP (1000 KVA), medium voltage (2 KV) and high current (10 KA) systems.
+ Experience in component development & qualification for transportation equipment applications
+ Experience with system level validation testing
+ Experience with transportation/locomotive auxiliary or traction equipment, systems, control, diagnostics, design or test
+ Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
+ Solid oral and written communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
+ PC proficiency

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
